Boycotting Amazon – Is that why your commissions are so low?

The Amazon influencer program can be a great opportunity, but many participants are noticing a drop in sales and commissions. If you are feeling disheartened by this trend, it’s important to explore what might be causing it.

You may be checking your content quality and active placements in the carousels, but sometimes external factors beyond your control play a role. Understanding these shifts can help you adapt and potentially improve your results in the program moving forward.

Analysis of Reduced Sales in the Amazon Influencer Program

If you are involved in the Amazon influencer program and notice a drop in your sales and commissions, you are not alone. Many individuals are experiencing similar issues and are trying to figure out the reasons for this decline.

One theory suggests that a political event may be affecting consumer behavior. Recently, some influencers have discussed a possible boycott of Amazon sparked by Jeff Bezos’s presence at a high-profile ceremony supporting a political figure. This theory suggests that some customers might be choosing to avoid Amazon due to these political connections.

It’s worth noting that while engagement may still be high, many are observing a strange trend where clicks are increasing, yet sales are decreasing. This could be attributed to ongoing changes within the Amazon platform, possibly signaling a shift in how the influencer program operates.

Investigating Factors Behind Decreased Performance

Amazon Carousel Checks

Many influencers are looking closely at their carousels and storefronts to find any issues. It’s essential to ensure that your content is published in the upper or lower carousels.

If the carousel isn’t showing your products effectively, it could lead to fewer clicks and lower overall sales.

Poor placements in the carousels and longer, better-quality reviews higher up in the carousels could all be causing fewer commissions.

Video Quality Analysis

Another critical area to review is the quality of your videos. High-quality videos are essential for engaging viewers and encouraging them to make purchases. Poor video quality can result in decreased interest from potential buyers.

Make sure that your visuals and audio are clear. Review your content to ensure it remains engaging and informative, as this can significantly impact your commission rates.

Political Influences on Consumer Behavior

Speculation Around Jeff Bezos and Donald Trump

There are varying opinions on the relationship between Jeff Bezos and Donald Trump. Some people feel that Bezos showing up at Trump’s inauguration symbolized support for his presidency. This has led to a divide among customers.

While some may support Bezos, others may disapprove of his presence at the event. This divide could be influencing consumer decisions, including whether to shop on Amazon. If you’re part of this debate, your personal feelings about Bezos or Trump may affect your purchasing behavior on Amazon.

I recently entered into a conversation on Facebook about the Boycotting of Amazon by consumers. A lady in the USA confirmed this opinion and agreed it really is a thing. See her comments below

What are your thoughts?

If you live in the US let me know your thoughts. Have you Boycotted Amazon?

Looking Ahead for the Amazon Influencer Program

It’s essential to consider that changes in consumer behavior can significantly affect sales. Whether based on political opinions or other reasons, these trends can influence how products are marketed and sold on platforms like Amazon.

As these developments unfold, staying informed and adapting your strategy will be crucial. If you know the drop in sales isn’t your fault then you might not get too discouraged and continue to provide helpful shoppable videos.

Final Thoughts

I feel this is NOT the reason people are seeing fewer sales and commissions.

I know currently carousels are changing and the UK at this moment doesn’t even have live upper carousels. With no carousels showing, this means no sales and no commissions for you.

Only time will tell if people do start to Boycott Amazon. For me, I will continue to make AIP ( Amazon Influencer Program ) shoppable videos.

My storefront has gone from strength to strength and although I don’t have as many videos as some creators. I earn more them most, thanks to my product research and filming strategies.
